Practice

Dr. Manetas joined Richmond Gastroenterology in 2005. He cares for patients suffering from most gastroenterology disorders. He has great experience and a special interest in treating patients with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, GERD, swallowing disorders, IBS or bowel irregularities, and pancreatic & gallbladder disorders. He is skilled in performing endoscopic GI procedures including Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy (EGD) and ERCP.

Education

Dr. Manetas received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the College of William and Mary. He then moved to Richmond and completed a Masters in Anatomy at MCV / VCU. He stayed at MCV / VCU for his medical school training and residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Manetas was then selected for a competitive fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami in Miami, Florida. During these next three years, he received state-of-the-art training in treating patients with digestive and liver diseases and performing endoscopic procedures. He was fortunate to care for a diverse patient population and also learn medical Spanish. He is proud to have been chosen as Chief Administrative Fellow while at Miami.

Profile

Dr. Manetas grew up in Northern New Jersey and is now happy to make Richmond his home. He met his wife, Anne, while at the College of William and Mary and they have two children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, tennis, traveling, and watching baseball. He is also an active member of the Richmond Greek Orthodox Church.
