Reading Bills, Books, and Bedtime Stories Again
After being told he was legally blind, Ivory believed he had lost the ability to enjoy one of life’s simplest pleasures—reading.
Thanks to generous donors, he received a closed-circuit television (CCTV) magnification system through the MedRVA Low Vision Center. For the first time in a decade, Ivory can read his mail, pay his bills, and even read alongside his grandchild.
It’s more than technology—it’s the return of independence, confidence, and moments he thought were gone forever.
Low Vision Center Helps Teen Live His Dream
A driver’s license is more than a piece of plastic. It’s freedom, independence, and opportunity.
For Grayson, living with albinism meant that dream seemed out of reach. Through determination, innovation, and specialized low vision rehabilitation at MedRVA, he achieved what once felt impossible.
His story is a powerful reminder that when we focus on what’s possible, lives can change.
Helping an 11-Year-Old See a Brighter Future
Born with a rare genetic disorder that caused permanent vision loss, Aisha dreamed of having glasses that could read aloud to her.
Thanks to the generosity of the MedRVA Foundation and our community of supporters, Aisha received life-changing technology that is helping her read independently, complete homework with confidence, and experience greater freedom every day.
