Dr. Matthew Stanwix, of Richmond Plastic Surgeons, is a board certified plastic surgeon. He has led extensive research (including face transplantation), published over twelve landmark articles in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, and authored four chapters in various elite plastic surgery textbooks. His exceptional reviews and patient testimonials prove his dedication to patients and unparalleled cosmetic excellence. Using innovative technology and techniques, as well as a gift for an “artistic eye,” Dr. Stanwix performs all avenues of Cosmetic, Plastic and Facial Plastic Surgery with a special emphasis on Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Breast Surgery, and Body Contouring.

Education

Dr. Matthew G. Stanwix, MD, FACS, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame before attending medical school at Dartmouth, where he graduated in the top 5% and was awarded the Mosenthal Award for Highest Surgical Achievement. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins University in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Profile

As a philanthropist, Dr. Stanwix gives back by providing high quality pro bono reconstructive care and volunteers on medical mission trips (Vietnam-Changing Childrens’ Lives). He lives with his wife and sons while enjoying his free time performing home renovation, landscaping, weight training, and sports.
