Dr. Isaac L. Wornom III has been a plastic surgeon in Richmond for 25 years. He has been listed as one of Richmond’s “Top Docs” in plastic surgery by Richmond Magazine since these ratings were created over 10 years ago. He is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a past-president of the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association and the Virginia Society of Plastic Surgery. His practice is focused on cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, reconstructive breast surgery, and the treatment of skin cancer. In addition, he has been one of the primary plastic surgeons for children in Richmond since his arrival here in 1989. He has extensive experience in treatment of cleft lip and palate, congenital moles, and vascular malformations in children. His interest in helping children extends to Honduras where he travels yearly on mission trips to provide plastic surgery care for kids there.

Education

Dr. Wornom attended Washington & Lee University where he was an All-American swimmer. He then completed medical school at UVA and his residency at the University of Alabama – Birmingham. Dr. Wornom then continued his education with two fellowships, in plastic surgery at Emory University in Atlanta and in craniomaxillofacial surgery at the University of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Profile

Outside of work, he and his wife Susan have three successful grown children and are active members of Second Baptist Church where he has taught youth Sunday school for 24 years. He stays active swimming regularly, playing golf, and caring for his yard. Like all of the surgeons at Richmond Plastic Surgeons, he prides himself on giving individualized, personal care.
