Dr. Silverstein is a member of several professional organizations including the Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Silverstein is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at VCU. He specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus.

Education

Dr. Silverstein is a Virginia native and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He received a dual-degree at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Biomedical Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology from the School of Arts and Sciences. He then earned his M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where Dr. Silverstein was awarded a Canby Robinson Scholarship. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Duke University Eye Center.
