Practice

Dr. Holley is an ophthalmologist specializing in small incision cataract extraction with lens implant, laser surgery, and in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. He is especially interested in the use of cataract surgery to improve patients’ vision and reduce reliance on glasses. Dr. Holley will be practicing primarily at the Mechanicsville office. Dr. Holley is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He is the newest physician with Richmond Eye Associates, joining the practice in August of 2021; he looks forward to getting to know and serve the Mechanicsville community.

Education

Dr. Holley completed his ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he served as chief resident, and was awarded resident of the year. He completed his internal medicine transitional year at Osceola Regional Hospital. He received his medical degree from Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. Dr Holley is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he studied computer engineering. After working for a year in the engineering field, he realized he’d missed his true calling, and began working towards a life of serving his community through medicine.

Dr. Holley enjoys spending time with his wife and son, as well as their Border Collie, Maggie. He is active in his local church, and enjoys spending time outdoors and learning new and complicated board games.
