Raised in southeast Texas, Dr. Long graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Long found his way to the commonwealth when completing his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University here in Richmond.
Dr. Long was drawn to otolaryngology by the wide breadth of practice, with the field having a unique ability to treat a broad range of diagnoses both in the clinic and operating room, to create lasting quality of life change for a patient and their family. He enjoys getting to know and treating patients of all ages, and has special interests in obstructive sleep apnea treatment, endoscopic sinus surgery and comprehensive pediatric and adult care.
Outside of work, Dr. Long enjoys spending time with his family in Virginia’s state and national parks, as well as running and reading classics with his book club. He is often picking up a new DIY project at home.
